Take a moment for yourself with a "window of time." Join the shop in a calm group intended to help us listen to our hearts, honor our feelings, and stay grounded and present.
This is a community group with no ticket fee. We meet in person at the shop and via Google Meet. Please RSVP to receive the meeting link and workshop materials.
Overview of the 45 minutes:
- Introduction to A Window of Time
- Intention-setting and community agreements
- Invitation to participate in the art activity or participate as an observer, witness, or listener
- Invitation to share
- Closing with hope and courage
4th Friday of the month
11 - 11:45 AM (before the shop opens)
Facilitated by Rosalyn Kawahira (she/her) of Nellita's Craft.
A Window of Time is based on the framework by A Window Between Worlds (AWBW), a leader in creativity and mental wellness that supports direct service organizations to incorporate creative expression into their work with trauma survivors.
Special note: This activity is not art therapy nor is it arts education.
The AWBW philosophy is grounded in the idea that the art workshops are a “Window of Time” — a safe, non-judgmental space where participants can authentically express their identity, hopes, dreams, experiences and truths. In this environment, participants can fully benefit from the process of creating art.
During a workshop there is no right or wrong way. Whatever supports participants in expressing, connecting, and attending to their needs and feelings is the number one priority. The Windows workshops are an opportunity for participants to practice how they want to live in the world. This includes asking for what they need and choosing to share as much or as little as they want. (https://awbw.org/programs/our-philosophy/)
