Intro to Block Printing: Winter Greeting Cards
Workshop by Naomi Takata Shepherd
Learn to carve your own 4” x 6” block and hand print greeting cards with your creation! We will discuss carving techniques and planning, use a lino cutter to carve our designs into rubber blocks, and use an ink pad to print our designs. You’ll be able to plan your own artwork or use the winter-themed artwork choices provided. With our small workshop size of 8 students maximum, there will be plenty of time to talk with Naomi one on one about your art, techniques, and any questions you may have. You’ll end the class with a carved block and a batch of greeting cards to send to your friends and family!

Ticket: $95 all supplies included!
For participants ages 18+
The workshop fee includes $35 worth of materials that you will use during our workshop and take home with you so you can continue your block printing journey: a lino cutter tool, 4" x 6" Speedball Speedy Carve Block, an archival ink pad, and blank greeting cards with envelopes.

Naomi Takata Shepherd is a Bay Area based artist who works in a variety of mediums including block printing, hand-drawn/digital illustration, book arts, and watercolor.
