They hold not only hope, but a commitment and an intention--to fold peace into our actions, not just our words. This card is for demonstrating care, love, understanding, sympathy, and empathy to a loved one in a tangible way. To hold impossible things in tension and let there be peace and kindness and togetherness in the midst of them.
Paper cranes are a meaningful symbol and a movement for peace deepened by the story of Sadako Sasaki, a Hiroshima survivor who died at 12 from leukemia. While in the hospital, her friend shared how orizuru are sacred birds, and if you fold 1000, you’ll get well.
