Get started with your kitchen garden! Designed for small-space living, this workshop will share how to propagate plants to bring nature into your home.
This is a hands-on workshop where you'll learn about the parts of plants, cutting techniques, and starter materials so you can propagate plants at home. These fundamentals can be applied to different varieties of herbs and plants so you can create and maintain your own kitchen garden. At the end, you'll take home plants that you've propagated yourself.
Saturday, October 4

Valerie Morishige (she/her), sees gardening as a great way to connect: nature and nutrition, culture and community, movement and meditation. She currently teaches gardening (mostly fruits and vegetables) to elementary school students and is an avid vermiculturist. Her master's degree is in Nutrition and Food Policy from Tufts University and bachelor's in English from UCLA. Valerie believes everyone can grow something somewhere!
